The San Diego District 2019-2020 Auditions will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at the Cooper Music Center in Crill Performance Hall on the campus of Point Loma Nazarene University, 3900 Lomaland Drive, San Diego, CA 92106.
Individual oral evaluations for participating singers will follow the announcement of the winners. This is unique to the MONC auditions—each competitor is offered the special opportunity of meeting with and receiving feedback directly from the judges.
Following completion of all Western Region District Auditions, the Western Regional Finals will be held TBD.
To be eligible for the 2019-2020 auditions, applicants must be 20-30 years old from August 1, 2019 through July 31, 2020 – which means the auditioner’s birth date must fall between August 1, 1989 and August 1, 1999 (inclusive). There are NO exceptions.
Citizens of countries other than the United States (U.S.) or Canada must provide proof of one-year residency or proof of full-time enrollment in a university or conservatory in the U.S. or Canada before being permitted to enter any MONC District audition. Applicants may enter any one District audition regardless of where they reside.
All singers auditioning for the MONC competition should read the “Governing Regulations” section of the application (page 2) and pay attention to the exact dates singers must be available to progress to the Western Regional Finals (TBD) in Los Angeles and to the MONC National Semi-Finals (TBD, with Arrival in New York TBD) and Grand Finals (TBD) in New York City.
Required of all applicants are:
A completed 2019-2020 application form (including reading and signing the Governing Regulations page); a one-page résumé; photo; non-refundable application fee of $30.00 (USD only) and a photocopy of legal proof of age such as a birth certificate, passport or driver’s license.
